 in the tropical zone off the west coast of southern Thailand, further to the west is the Andaman Sea and then on to the Indian Ocean, the province covers an area of approximately 540 square kilometers.
The Islands contours are breathtaking with the majority of its area covered with granit mountainous terrains which stretch from north to south and the remaining 30 percent being plains located to the central and eastern sections. There are no major river systems but there are a number of brooks and creeks which in turn have created some very picturesque waterfalls.
