Scuba Liveaboard and Dive Charters

More and more people each year find out that becoming a scuba diver needn't be a dream. Thanks to PADI, with their well structured courses, diving has become accessible not only in the warm waters of the tropics, but all over the globe. And what a wonderful privilege it is. As an Instructor, I've has had the honour to make many a diver. I love that scuba is noncompetitive and that it gives couples and families the opportunity to have and share truly magnificent experiences that become priceless memories for the rest of your lives.

Take a look at the photo above, which I took last year (3/2007). Imagine the experience of diving with this magnificent, huge, gentle beast. I have been lucky enough over the years to encounter a fair number of these graceful sharks. Each experience with them has become a precious memory.

Phuket (The Andaman Sea) is one of the best locations in Asia to encounter The Whale Shark, the largest fish in the world.

Just the other day (6/2008), two Whale Sharks surprised divers at the famous dive sites of Bida Nok and Bida Nai. I am often asked the question “When is the best time of year to see one?” My answer stays the same: “Any time you go diving in Thailand, there's always a chance.”

Being part of the Indian Ocean, The Andaman Sea boasts a high diversity of not only fish species, but also coral species. Very healthy corals abound in many areas, especially Koh Phi Phi and The Similan Islands. These are the two dive areas I would most strongly recommend in Phuket. Whether you require Whale Sharks, Manta Rays, or just healthy tropical reefs and abundant fish life, you will definitely not be disappointed with the diving The Andaman Sea offers.
